English Language day

A forum on the “Decline of the English Language in Mauritius” was held on Monday 25th April 2016, at the  Aberystwyth University in Quartier Militaire, to mark the English Language Day.

Some 70 Members and guests attended the forum, amongst whom the Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, H.E. Mr Barlen Vyapoory, GOSK (former Secretary of the ESU).

The panellists brainstormed over the reasons for the decline of the English language in Mauritius, its consequences and proposed measures to remedy the situation.
